Wheat and spelt are the biggest crop in Luxembourg, which together account for 14,494 hectares of farmland. They also produce large amounts of corn, barley, triticale, rapeseed, and around 3,000 tons of fruit and 2,500 tons of vegetables.
This is a contributing reason as to why Luxembourg is so socially, economically, and politically developed. Luxembourg’s work force is mainly financial services as it is a leading center in Europe for investment funds and private banking. This also implies Luxembourg is more socially developed as it doesn’t need the agriculture to stay within the country.
The plantations in Luxembourg seem to be located in the bottom third of the country while the pasturelands are very disperse throughout the state. There are barely any vegetable farms recorded on the Luxembourg map, however fruit farms seem to be almost identical to plantations.
